The Puerto Rico Association of American Mothers was established in 1969 and incorporated with the Department of State in 1970.  The Puerto Rico Association has chapters in Rincón, Mayaguez, Cabo Rojo, San German, Ponce, Bayamón, San Juan, Juncos, Las Piedras and Humacao, who all get together about five times each year.  Each chapter meets once a month in each city.  Their statewide annual service project is the collection of baby blankets to be distributed among hospitals who care for children with cancer and for individual needs in each chapter, they also enjoy giving future mothers the basic needs to care for their babies.
