The Idaho Association of American Mothers was formed in 1947 with the naming of the first Mother of the Year®, Ruth Millay of Lewiston, Idaho.  Next spring, Idaho will name their 73rd Mother of the Year and state Mother of Achievement at the Governor's office.  Idaho has one chapter in Boise, Idaho; however this reaches out to many nearby cities. The Idaho Association meets two to three times a year. They dedicate their chapter to the mission statement of American Mothers, "to harness the power of maternal energy to make a positive impact in the world."

The Idaho Association prioritizes supporting efforts that benefit women and children in the state. Specifically, supporting teenage mothers with continuing their education through the Booth Memorial Home, supporting the Idaho Diaper Bank with diapers needed for families who live in poverty and low-income areas in southwestern Idaho, supporting the Women's and Children's Alliance to provide assistance for women and children who are victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence and supporting the City Light rescue mission for homeless women and children.

These events are ongoing throughout the year.  The Idaho Association consists of blessed Idaho moms, "lifting one another up, cheering on others and sharing good news about every victory for every mom, no matter how small."
