The Maine Association of American Mothers was established in 1945 and is headquartered in the capital city of Augusta. They meet monthly with the exception of December and January to work on a variety of service projects and volunteer opportunities. They have selected the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP) of the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital as their annual service project, and they also enjoy supporting and volunteering their time at the Greater Augusta Area Back to School Event, each August, preparing hundreds of students with backpacks and school supplies to kick off their school year on a positive note with the tools they need to succeed. The Maine Associate has a very active ABC Quilts program to make quilts for at risk babies and children. They enjoy extending warm and helping hands to the Augusta Area Kinship Group in support of Grandparents and Relatives raising family members, and invite you to join them at an upcoming meeting or volunteer opportunity.
