How would you like to win a $500 Golden Rule Grant for your state association or local chapter?

Two state associations or chapters will receive a $500 Golden Rule Grant (awarded at convention) for their growth in membership and fundraising for the 8-week period beginning January 24th.

• Growth in membership will be measured by percentage based on membership when the competition begins on January 24th.
  
• Growth in fundraising will be measured by the amount of donations to the Golden Rule Grant Fund based on number of members when the competition ends on March 27th.

It's Yearbook Time: Each year at the National Convention we distribute the American Mothers yearbook as a keepsake for honorees, attendees and guests. Don't miss the opportunity to commemorate the occasion and celebrate a special mother by purchasing an ad! The deadline to purchase is March 1st, so reserve your space here.

The heartbeat of American Mothers can be found in small towns and large cities across the US as members of our historic organization gather to harness the power of maternal energy to make a positive impact in the world.

This year during our national convention, we look forward to recognizing the hard work of individuals and groups who are going above and beyond to grow the impact of American Mothers in their local chapters and larger state associations. Each winner of the American Mothers Awards will receive a Golden Rule Grant that can be used to benefit any nonprofit with a mission to provide services for the common good of mothers and children, including the AMI chapter itself.

The categories are:

• Outstanding Leader
• Outstanding Member
• Outstanding Association or Chapter
• Outstanding Growth in Membership (January 24 - March 27)
• Outstanding Growth in Fundraising (January 24 - March 27)

We are looking for women to mentor the 2020 Mother of the Year honorees to help them prepare for convention, get ready for their trip, and know what to expect as the Mother of the Year in their state for the upcoming year. Congratulations to Maine for having the highest number of nominations for 2020 Mother of the Year!

Ohio, New Mexico, Puerto Rico and California were close behind, followed by Utah, Iowa, Washington, Georgia, Wisconsin and Delaware.

Overall, we had a record number of nominations come from across the country. A big thank you to all who nominated!

2019 AMI Convention Yearbook

From 2019 California Mother of the Year, Susan Tatsui-D'Arcy:

"I'm looking for a mom who can share an idea worth spreading.  It can't be political or religious, but it can be about any unique or interesting idea that other people may be interested in. They have 8-12 minutes to give their speech. It will be in a beautiful theater and they'll have lapel microphones.  The video will go up on TED about 3-4 months after the event. 

There is no cost but we do ask that they purchase 20 tickets (per speaker) to fill the auditorium and help pay for the expenses for the event.  Tickets are $15 each.  For those traveling to Santa Cruz, we can give the tickets to students or others as long as the speaker purchases the tickets."
